what is the reason for islamophobia?

Yes, i understand recent years have not shown Islam in a good light, however other religion have and are doing bad things aswell, yet there is less hatred for these than there are for islam. Why?
Also people dont seem to understand the term "minority". Only a minority of muslims do bad things yet the whole religion is blamed. Again, why?

Sexism, racism, ageism. Not that they are done and dusted, but i am glad to live in country that has become more tolerant and moving forward. I do not see religion in all it's guises as the way forward, and in the case of some followers of Islam its a retrograde step.
There are none so blind as those that cannot see.
Mohammedans were never a problem till they immigrated in great numbers. It is for the British government to decide whether those numbers are so great as to materially affect the welfare and comfort of the indigenous population and, if so, to decide upon appropriate measures.

Unfortunately people have extremely short memory or they pretend that they do not or did not know. “All Muslims are not terrorists but all of the terrorists are Muslims” and many other statements like these are well heard and known to all of us. I could easily say that in last 50 to 60 years how many Muslim countries have been invaded and compared to that how many Non-Muslim countries have been invaded? But then why should I waste my time and that of the others in arguing about all this. Instead I am going to put one simple statement here (and I have done it before) and would see that how many people can repeat my words. Especially those people who say that majority of the Muslims might not be terrorists but why don’t they condemn it openly. I will not count on all of the Muslims of the world as that might not be possible to prove one way or another. So let’s see how many can repeat my words. And I will tell you in advance that few people here will not repeat my words as I have previous experience. Very simply even if a Muslim child of one year old is killed by Israeli white phosphorus, or an Afghan child killed by American daisy cutter, few people will never condemn it.
“I condemn killing of any innocent person, of any religion (or of no religion), of any race, any colour, of any country by any individual or state, by any means and anywhere in the world”

Keyplus, you really don't understand, do you? Or do you? To the public at large this is not solely about politics - and to Muslims in this country this is not solely about politics, so don't try to worm out of it by pretending it is. Islam promotes, accepts, and excuses a dogma that has no place in a civilised world and it promotes, accepts, and excuses practices that have no place in a civilised world. What people see, what they listen to, and what they experience goes far beyond politics. You talk about innocence – but that is the operative word - because I suspect that my idea of innocence and yours are worlds apart.

The dictionary defines islamophobia as hatred or fear of Islam especially as a political force. Islam, like anything else, is a valid subject for debate and criticism. As previously indicated the two things are different, although there's undoubtedly not a clear line that divides them.
What is interesting is that a lot of people appear to try to justify the former by the latter and without wishing to sound too much like Basil Fawlty that really is how Nazi Germany started ...

Naomi, you really don't understand, do you? Or do you?
If anything has no place in a civilised society then there is nothing to worry about as it should die off itself for a very simple reason that civilised people will reject it. However if it is not rejected and instead is accepted or acted upon by many more “who once believed it was uncivilised” then it might not be as uncivilised as few might have thought. And that is common sense once again.
Well done Mike at least you did what many would not do here. There is no trick in my words and these are simple and plain words of condemnation but few people will never repeat these words. I can even give you names of couple of people. For example Naomi and Birdie will not repeat my words without adding something into it. Although I believe my words does not need adding as it covers everything and most importantly EVERYONE. You just wait and see.
