Believers in the legitimacy of prophecy constrict themselves to either of two potentially dangerous paths; they paralyse themselves from any action to circumvent said prophecy or make themselves puppets of the prophecy in an unwitting effort to hasten and ensure its fulfillment.
I have no desire to lead, follow or join you on the path towards your chosen destination nor to render assistance, aid or comfort to the goal which you have chosen to pursue.

I like it, but think it is less to do with you and more to do with the subjects of your razor sharp dry wit.
However, I should revise my question, to, "How many Asda Smart Price custard pies should I expect to see flying in my direction should I purchase this DVD?"
The trailer did not satisfy my curiosity, and I was interested in the non christian views of it, as unbiased observers.
In other words, do the claims made have any merit in the light of recent global events, such as economic meltdown, the Arab Spring, turmoil in the Middle East, Iranian nuclear ambitions, the technology for a moneyless currency system, the move towards a United States Of Europe etc etc? And of course, the central role of Israel and in particular, Jerusalem in world politics.
I like it, but think it is less to do with you and more to do with the subjects of your razor sharp dry wit.

The Bible does actually allude to some system, (the mark of the beast), that would only allow buying and selling under license, by people conscripted or enrolled in the system, with some form of super smartcard, verichip, barcode or number. Essentially, there would be no freelance exchange with money, and we are already mong towards that are we not?
Also, "rational thinking people," would have to agree, that 1948 saw the re-emergence of Israel as an inependent nation state after thousands of years of occupation, and the final unification of Jerusalem in 1967. Quite an event in world history and qute a coincidence if not a fulfillment of prophecy.

This is down to believers working hard to fulfil the "prophecies" of the Bible.
Arseh0les like Churchill lied to the Arabs about fighting for self determinination and ousting the Ottoman Empire.

Theland, “It’s beyond our understanding” and “Only the wise will understand it and live” – so which is it? It can’t be both.
Once again religion contradicts itself. It wants us to believe that it’s terribly mysterious and therefore ‘beyond our understanding’ – which means we must accept what it says without question - but at the same time it massages the already over-inflated egos of those who think they have a ‘get out of death’ pass by telling them they are wise if they understand. What you all fail to understand is that without religion the situation in the Middle East wouldn’t be happening at all.
The thing is Theland, if we agree, hypothetically, that all of these things have been prophesied, what are YOU going to do about it? What are any of us going to do about it? What CAN any of us do about it? Peace cannot come to this world until each and every human being who currently adheres to the archaic tribal superstition of the Abrahamic religions abandons it. You’re all right, aren’t you – and the other bloke is wrong, isn’t he – but you’re all going to cheat death - and in your personal obsession to ensure the survival of your own soul, none of you can see the damage you’re creating or the intolerance you’re perpetuating here in the real world. That will reign and the utter madness and misery will continue until you – all of you – grow up, see sense, and face the unsavoury truth that you are going to die.
And it’s Waitrose at the very least – if you please. ;o)

Oh yes I agree. No escaping taxes or death, although the former can be reduced if one is a posh boy old Etonian member of the Bullingdon (?) Club.

Theland, like my avatar, the alleged word of a nonexistent being is wide open to interpretation as witnessed by the various transliterations and interpretations offered by the various religions that base their own specious, arbitrary and often contradictory assertions upon their preferred texts, your movie being no exception to the rule.
My current avatar is simply a reflection of my own preferred taste in custard pie. Being partial to and a connoisseur of Naomi's special recipe for which I have developed a fondness and occasionally uncontrollable appetite, I wouldn't be caught dead settling for your bargain brand.

In the six years and a bit that I have been an ABer on R&S, my views have shifted considerably because of the enforced self appraisal brought about by these enlightening debates, but I still give merit to the bible prophecies.
Dawkins urges us to not accept anything without evidence, and so I look for evidence.
The daily news correlates well with prophecy, in my humble opinion, and leads me to conclude that there is more than a passing coincidence as world events unfold. That to me is evidence. Dawkins would be happy with my approach I am sure.
As for Naomis recipes, I think she is a charlatan, and over relies on Aunt Bessie and Mr Kipling. The hard pastry is actually dangerous.

@Theland - I work on the principle that the longer the trailer extolling the virtues of a particular entertainment, the more disappointed I am likely to be when I finally come to view the finished product - and at 7.5 minutes, that was a looong trailer.
To many unchallenged assertions. Too many references to prophecy that has supposedly come true. I have seen no factual or empirical evidence to justify any such assertion.
Watch it if you like Theland, but I think I can find better things to spend my money on, and better ways of spending my time ;)

That is not prophecy but people operating under the influence of suggestion.
It is why the New Testament and its farcical myth about a man called Jesus was written.
And more importantly it is why we must expose this rubbish before the believers create the Armageddon they have so desperately wanted.
There are millions of people who desperately want the prophecies of the Bible to be proven true and will do anything to fulfill them.

You have not shifted at all. Your every thought begins with your cherished biblical "truths". Your search for evidence is limited to what backs your prejudiced doctrine.
That is not self appraisal but instead a delusion where you pretend you have opened your mind to wider alternatives.
Until you bring down the starting point of the Bible to the same level as you afford to rational discussion you will remain completely deluded.
