People often forget they have brains when it comes to a topic such as hell. Many persons will ponder on financial or other matters, but when hell is the subject they seem to prefer that someone else do the thinking.

hi good life .hell can be many things. As you are always quoting from the holy writings. what is the truth about hell in the Bible. And what is the Bible pointed view. in my opinion hell is death and not a place of everlasting fire.??? and you say god and Jesus are of love ,so why is your soul tormented the rest of your time in hell if you fail to please him .

You have summed me up well
Hell is other people.
I disagree

They use their brains enough that they can tell a children's horror story when they hear it,
Hell for one person could be Heaven for another.
Is "Hell" what the Earth is slowly becoming ?
It's usually in the 80s at this time of year.
@Goodlife

"People often forget they have brains when it comes to a topic such as hell. "
What, you mean everyone who disagrees with you? You certainly know how to win friends and influence people, don't you?

So is hell a literal or a metaphorical place then in your estimation?
Hell is not (in my opinion) a hot or even a physical space. It is ive live palace where the soul is separated from God and anything good and is in total mental anguish forever. Maybe a bit like depression unhappiness multiplied by a billion
It's a literal place we're all destined for. All except goodlife, that is.
I the spirit of goodlife's normal answers (I.e. a copy and paste)

"First, We postulate that if souls exist, then they must have some mass. If they do, then a mole of souls can also have a mass. So, at what rate are souls moving into hell and at what rate are souls leaving? I think we can safely assume that once a soul gets to hell, it will not leave.

Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for souls entering hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Some of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, then you will go to hell. Since there are more than one of these religions and people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all people and souls go to hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in hell to increase exponentially.

Now, we look at the rate of change in volume in hell. Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in hell to stay the same, the ratio of the mass of souls and volume needs to stay constant. Two options exist:

1) If hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter hell, then the temperature and pressure in hell will increase until all hell breaks loose.

2) If hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until hell freezes over.

So which is it? If we accept the quote given to me by Theresa Manyan during Freshman year, "that it will be a cold night in hell before I sleep with you" and take into account the fact that I still have NOT succeeded in having sexual relations with her, then Option 2 cannot be true...Thus, hell is exothermic."
It's bloody uncomfortable.
Goodlife, //People often forget they have brains when it comes to a topic such as hell.//

if you had any brains you would stop asking stupid bloody questions.
According to Dante's Inferno, Satan is imprisoned in a frozen lake in the ninth circle of hell. It must be true because it's written in a book.
Hell is being cut off from God.
I did experience hell once the day after eating a phaal. Hell, that was hot!
Yeah Cupid that's my opinion too -

I couldn't agree more . . . and what they forget (assuming they ever knew) is that reason (like life) is a conditional process contingent on a physically sustained, living functioning body and brain along with the capacity, desire, ability and choice to use it.

Hell (like God) exists only in an imagination unfettered by reason.

An answer to the question

Job was a faithful servant of God. Trying to break Job’s integrity, the Devil placed Job in a miserable state of affairs.

So the suffering Job prayed to God: “Who will grant me this, that thou mayst protect me in hell and hide me till thy wrath pass, and appoint me a time when thou wilt remember me?” (Job 14:13 Dy)

Since Job was already being tormented by the Devil, would he pray to be “protected” in, of all places, a Devil-managed compartment of red-hot coals? Job would not pray to go from the frying pan into the fire! would he.
If hot air rises, shouldn't Hell be cold and Heaven boiling hot?

That's the trouble with Christmas nowadays, there's just too much religious talk with it ;-)
Hell is having to read Watchtower spouting with no recognition of source or orginality of thought.
