Sorry Naomi if I misunderstood. I am not one of those who like to stir things up but I do read many of these postings and am slightly surprised that almost without exception people are anti God. By the way I am anti religion.
Count up all those who believe or have believed in a god throughout history and you'll have a fairly accurate count. I don't know of many who believe in the same god . . . even if they happen to be sitting in the same pew.
The missus was entertaining a tribe of 5 year old gremlins last saturday to celebrate our grandson's birthday. Being a duteous grandfather, I walked in with those funny goggle glasses on and Mrs WW said "oh my god!"
"The Encyclopedia of Gods" which I have on my shelf lists and describes over 2500 of them from A-a to Zurvan, of which the Judaeo/Christian 'God' is one of the least interesting.
(The book is by Michael Jordan and is published by Kyle Cathie Ltd 1992 pb1994)
Seeing as they exist only in peoples minds then I should say there are slightly less gods than there are people, this because some people's minds don't have a god in them.
