Excuse me ummm.On another thread you say you are a catholic.Which is true?
Because, like AOG, they like a good slagging-off session! :P

I don't vote but I'll post about politicians.
Why bother..............you're not a catholic so it has absolutley nothing to do with you, find something to comment on that impacts on your life.
Do Protestant churches have young elders?
I'll post a comment on any topic I like, thanks very much!
Ann - Also in the bible 1st Corinthians "Women know you're place" "Do not speak in church" "Do not preach" "If you want to ask a question wait till you get home and ask you're husband"
Paraphrased because I have not committed it to memory but it's all in there.

agreed birdie. Many years ago i visited Malta which is a very catholic country, and on one of their own tourist tours, the guide pointed out caves that the local people had to live in because they had no houses. The guide then referenced this to the very opulent chapels that existed at the same time. By the way, these cave dwellings were long before ww2

Why comment about what people comment about? Does it impact your life?
Daisy - I was brought up a Catholic.
To stabilise unite and bring the church round back to its roots....to consider faith before politics...
Argentinian eh? Well that puts them on a bit of a roll!
Should we increase our vigilance around The Falklands?
^ there's not much point Baldric. If god's on their side we're scuppered.
The Catholic church is one of, if not THE richest organisation in the world. Look at the wealth in the Vatican, then look at poor Catholics in other countries who keep on producing children because their religion does not allow the use of contraception. How many deaths from HIV could have been prevented if the use of condoms was allowed?
On a personal note, the Catholic church owns a large swathe of green belt land across the road from me. They booted the farmer off the land he has farmed for years and tried to flog the land to Tesco. Happily the town was up in arms and their plans came to nothing. The vitriolic outpourings from the church had to be read to be believed.
Good eyesight is a blessing for some. But for true Christians, however, there is a kind of eyesight spoken of by the apostle Paul that is of greater value than even good physical eyesight. He said “We keep our eyes, not on the things seen, but on the things unseen,” (2 Corinthians 4:18)

Yes is is a very special kind of vision indeed that enables one to see things that are unseen! You might call it a spiritual kind. ” (Psalm 146:3-6)
//If I were the Pope, the first thing I'd start to address is the obscene opulence, wealth and privilege of the Catholic Church in Vatican City and around the world. Assuming that Jesus existed at all, he would surely weep at how his message has been so completely perverted.//

Well said birdie, that is exactly my biggest gripe with the Catholic church along with the disgusting practices carried out by their priests who are then protected by the Vatican.
Craft - a strange comment from you.

If the folks on this site commented only on things that concerned them directly, it would be a very dull site indeed.
