Got married in a Tudor tower. It wasn't a conveyor belt wedding; lots of beautiful readings and music, vows that were actually written by us, so actually meant something and no religion.

I found it rather annoying that you couldn't choose any music with religious connections/inspiration as it ruled out quite a lot of instrumental classical stuff I'd otherwise have chosen. Other than that, the lack of religion had no impact whatsoever.

From what I have read on this thread so far it seems that for those few that got married in church, religion was the least common reason. Keeping the parents in good humour seems to be more important than pleasing god (daft idea).

You're mistaken. Most of the atheists here know rather a lot about your 'Lord', which is precisely why they reject the idea.

And the pharoahs lasted longer, nearly 3000 years, than Christianity has, so far. I wonder how they ever got to the afterlife before Christ turned up to tell us how to do it?
