People lie for many reasons. Some think they are obligated to lie about their abilities in order to get ahead in this competitive world.
Others try to cover up errors or guilt with lies. Still others falsify reports to give the impression that they have done work they have not done.
Then there are those who lie to damage another’s reputation, to avoid embarrassment, to justify previous lies, or to defraud people of their money.( Rev. 21:8)
Telling lies can hinge on motivation; If I see a fox head north and then am asked by a mounted fox hunter 'did the fox head north' I would without doubt say 'No he headed south.' motivated by the fact that I want to save the fox from being torn to shreds by dogs.
Goodlife, sticking a question mark at the end of a few words doesn't turn those words into a question. You're telling us why people lie - so what is your question?
''Then there are those who lie to damage another’s reputation, to avoid embarrassment, to justify previous lies, or to defraud people of their money.( Rev. 21:8)''
And there are those who lie to avoid hurting someones feelings, to boost someones self-esteem or encourage someone to keep on trying....'(common sense 20:20)
