No, it's not good.
Good for what?
Have they seen it?
Fraser Agnew, the mayor of Newtownabbey council, said: “As the guardians of all that is right in society we have got to take a stand somewhere.”

Says it all about the arrogance of those who subscribe to the Abrahamic Death Cult.
isn't there, i would have thought it the perfect place, their abridged version of the Shakespeare plays are a masterpiece

Good that people who pay their rates don't have to see their money used to subsidize an attack on all that many hold dear.
sandy, horse, high, not necessarily in that order come to mind, freedom of speech, some of your countrymen have done unspeakable acts, now they have the freedom to say how the country is run, i know which i prefer to watch, listen to
If they held it dear enough you'd have thought that they'd be able to see this as satire rather than a serious attack. People who can't even cope when someone pokes fun at their beliefs ought to rethink their position, frankly, and lighten up.

Besides which, an "attack" that focuses on the "key questions" of Christianity such as "did Moses really look like Charlton Heston?" is hardly the most serious and powerful line of attack Christians will face...

This story is an example of Protestant intolerance. It's not all one sided, Catholics can be just as bad. Years ago, when it wasn't always safe to venture far from home, the local pub would show a film in the function room. The announcement that a forthcoming attraction would be The Life of Brian brought condemnation for the local parish priest and a picket of the pub by concerned mothers. e didn't get to see the film until it was shown on TV.

I can't see a theatre here surviving on the receipts from the door so it must be.
Meanwhile they would gladly mortgage everything to pay for a Papal visit.

Plain old religious prejudice.
I would argue that not only is this event clearly not an 'insidious assault on Christianity' - it is in no way intended to be seen as such.

I am sure that if God existed, he would have a sense of humour (he did 'create' politicians after all!) and he would not see an element of humour about his 'work' being anything other than it is - a simple entertainment.

The event is not compulsory, adults can decide if they wish to attend - a courtesy that is equally extended to those who may or may not wish to attend religious services at this building.

All the Abrahamic religions are the embodiment of prejudice.
For those who would liked to have seen it but were denied the opportunity, an abridged version of the abridged version.

This is one of those satirical newspapers right? No-one could actually have said that seriously.

Sadly, it's not satirical. Our political class is bigoted and small minded. And each side of the sectarian divide is the mirror image of the other.
