Mikey, I think Goodlife is a bloke.
Goodlife, I’m very well aware that the name ‘Easter’ is of pagan origin, but that’s not what I asked. The reason I’ve asked you several times to tell me what happened at Easter is because despite your claims that the bible is consistent, I know it isn’t, and more to the point, you know it isn’t – which is why you avoid answering. You can’t even be honest with yourself, Goodlife, so how can you expect anyone else to take you seriously?
//But he knew that Abraham was a faithful man and that he had faith God would resurrect his son.//
Oh, come on, Goodlife! Abraham had faith that Isaac would be resurrected? Where on earth did you get that from? God didn’t ask Abraham politely to kill Isaac, he ‘commanded’ him to do it, and there was no mention of resurrection. You’re not just picking out the bits you like – you’re making them up as you go along – and you’re missing the point entirely into the bargain. This is the question that you need to think about. Why would a sane, compassionate, all-powerful, entity (which if you know your bible you’ll know God wasn’t) wilfully cause unnecessary suffering to any living creature?
//You do not know him [God] and with your attitude you never will!//
That’s good news. I happen to be rather selective about the company I keep.
