Question For Naomi
209 Answers
I read on another thread that you used to live in a haunted house. Can you tell us a little more about what happened there? Im genuinely interested. One of my sisters seems to constantly have unexplained things happening to her and other members of my family have had 'spookey' experiences.
Anyone else lived in a haunted house or had experiences of the 'impossible'?

I sat in a deckchair the other day and there was a sudden almondy smell, and yet there was no one else nearby. The explanation was quite simple, a stink bug had hidden overnight in the roll of cloth around the top bar and when I sat on the deck chair it got a bit squashed. Had I not been aware of stink bugs I would never have guessed the cause of the almondy smell.
I agree with dt and jomifl. There will be a rational explanation, which we may just not know yet. I'm surprised, Naomi, you are happy to put it down to "haunting" or "ghosts", where on other threads you're happy to say "we don't know yet"- often about things more verified than ghosts. Also, surprised by ratter- i thought you were more down-to-earth. "Ghosts" are a lazy explanation for something we aren't sure of. Like "God".
Pixie, since we don’t know what’s happening, and since the art of communication is communication, in the absence of more appropriate terminology I’ve used words that everyone understands. If you can think of something more fitting that will convey to the reader the sort of experience that people here are talking about, do let me know. There certainly will be a rational explanation – eventually - but it’s not going to be creaking floorboards and expanding pipes. Neither of those things caused what was happening in my house.
Sorry for late reply but logged on to some very good reading there. Thanks naomi for eleborating on your story and thanks for everyone else's story as well.
Though I lean towards the sceptical I know too many people who have had experiences that cant be put down to self delusion (because others have witnessed the same thing) or any rational explanation.

I only wish for it so I can make my mind up. I have deceased family members that I know would want to contact me if they were able, to explain a few things surrounding their deaths. The fact that they haven't contacted me also says they are not able. I'm here and I'm waiting.
Mind you if I saw a ghost I would probably die of heart failure!

I agree with RATTER, I too would be impressed if anyone from the 'other side' made contact with me and ive attended dozens of spiritualist churches in the past but got nothing except generalized statments that meant bu99er all. I would also probably have heart failure if I saw a ghost. My sister on the other hand seems to be open to these things and has weird things happening all the time, especially at work where others have experienced the same phenomona as she has.
