What do you think, satan is not real,he is just symbolic.

Or satan exists, but he has little interest in mankind.

Or satan is a powerful spirit creature who exerts great influence on mankind.

Because each has its supporters.

Sandy, not all sin is debauchery, there is a comprehensive list in the OT. Just keep your imagination under control otherwise you might have to do some flesh mortifying, (but only if it gives a strangely inexplicable and poignant pleasure)
Yes , I think Satan's real . How would I describe him ? Difficult , but I think he thrives on chaos , doubt and setting people against each other and he'll never settle for 99% . he'll always want more .
If it's no 2, he certainly has an interest in mankind, why would he not?
Who needs Satan when we already have believers to contend with.

Satan . . . for those who can not be satisfied with just one delusion.

goodlife //Jesus said to his inquiring disciples: “And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.” (Matt. 24:14) //

He also said that it would happen before all of those listening has passed.

Getting close to two thousand years behind schedule now.

Yet still the deluded fools wait.
Jomifl, 2 of the 7 Deadly sins would fall into the debauchery category. Lust raises its ugly head and forces its way to the front. And Gluttony could squeeze in there too.
The other 5(maybe less fun but equally as pernicious), Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, and Pride, can all set us on a path that leads to eternal damnation
sandyRoe - "... He's all too real... he's managed to convince so many intelligent people that he doesn't exist... [those who sin] don't realise there is a price to be paid some day for all their debauchery... [seven deadly sins] can all set us on a path that leads to eternal damnation...".

Oh lighten up. You're going to worry yourself into an early grave. Satan is no more real than fairies or leprechauns. He's a man-made invention specifically created to frighten people into not committing 'sin'. I find it lamentable that grown men and women actually still believe in this patently obvious clap-trap. It's so stupid.

Let's say for a minute that Satan exists. Why doesn't God simply make him not exist and remove Hell from existence? It's perfectly within His powers since He is the creator of everything. The fact that people encumbered by religion believe Satan to exist just goes to prove the gullibility of the faithful. You'll believe anything you're told regardless of physical evidence or - 'heaven' forbid - logical reason.
benhilton - "... Yes , I think Satan's real . How would I describe him ? Difficult..."

Actually, it's not difficult at all. The word you're looking for is "imaginary".
Satan is everywhere even in the Vatican.
birdie1971, I lead an impeccable life. Truly, I don't worry about my chances of getting a favourable verdict when I stand before the Judgement Throne. But I do care for the fate of obviously good, decent, people who risk eternity in Hell because they don't moderate their behaviour.
(....Birdie please quote the full sentence .... )
goodlife - if the devil has reached inside the Catholic church - and indeed inside the JW sect, and polluted it with greed and child abuse - would not God step in to save even one of his innocents from being defiled by those who work under cover of his worship?

Where is your God when children weep in the night, and men with reversed collars who defile them, preach the Gospel on Sunday?

If evil deeds are punished, why do innocents suffer as they do?

Where is your God for them?

Jesus’ words will come true, “this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.” This is yet another reason for believing that Jehovah’s day is imminent. So, what events should alert true Christians watch for?

Where is God? That question has been asked by many people. Some of them have simply been trying to understand a basic fact about the Creator, namely, where is he located? Others have voiced the question after a widespread calamity or when they personally felt hard-pressed and could not understand why God did not intervene. Yet others do not inquire at all because they reject the very idea that God exists.—Psalm 10:4.
Yet some intense love for truth has impelled millions of others, in all lands, to search for the true God. Their effort has not been in vain because he “is not far off from each one of us.”—Acts 17:26-28.

It all down to failing to understand Satan’s origin and why God has tolerated Satan for so long.
goodlife - you have missed your vocation.

Your breathtaking abilty to chicane your way out of answering a simple question by covering your response with weird biblical texts which come over as so much mumbo-jumbo means that you are wasted here -

the Tory Party needs you now!!!

Yes but "this generation" is getting on towards our eighty great grand parents. These things didn't happen in that generator nor those since.

What makes you continue to believe it is imminent, just like millions before you who died without seeing the return of Jesus.
