`Lets face it Religion brings nothing into humanity apart from war and is only used as a power of control and money. What will actually be the final straw when these old books are merely just a joke to out future generation? They will be looking back and laughing how stupid we were to follow what is merely a fairy tale.

What scientific discoveries will stop religion or what events?

Yes, one advantage of taking the doomed route means they will no longer need to knock on my door.

Well birdie I think you just summed that up rather well. I think I like you.
Nothing!
In frank terms the Scriptures do reveal that, when the end of religion,

Those slain by Jehovah will certainly come to be . . . from one end of the earth clear to the other end of the earth.” (Jeremiah 25:33) But you do not have to be among the slain.

In his Word the Bible God clearly states what kind of people, systems and organizations will be destroyed. Being forewarned, people who love life, and who sincerely want to do what is right in the eyes of God, can get out of the danger zone.
Goodlife,

What happens to the survivors though who won't have their religion?
As far as I understand it, according to Goodlife et al, only Jehovah's Witnesses will inherit a perfect earth. The rest of us are doomed... but seriously.... who'd want to live with them for eternity? Give me the promised oblivion.
That's what I understand as well but I do wonder if goodlifes God wants such arrogant people to live for ever.
All ineffectual 'Gods', be they human or 'supernatural' favour sycophants. It's a weakness. ;o)

Boredom with this rubbish

I suppose religion is a by-product of that which sets us apart from all other animals. A vivid imagination. Many moons ago, people could not comprehend how the universe works and many idols were invented to 'explain' any natural phenomenon. Rain gods, river gods, sea gods, the list is endless.

It's no more credible to beleive that we/ life/ the universe , just appeared from nowhere ; than to beleive that that an omnipotent god ,. or whatever you want to call it/him/her was responsible
It is more likely to be chips under the skin, than barcodes VE. They can be a tool to track/control the masses.

I mean that there will be proof that religion is a mere fairy tale

I read this once (profitably on sickipedia) and it summed it up for me .

Religion...one mans weird dream that got seriously out of hand!
profitably?

'probably'
You point out that religion brings nothing into humanity!

Well it is true that very few people let the Bible guide their thoughts & actions. Many state that the Bible's standards are old fashioned. Then there are those who water down its laws & principles for example fornication, adultery, dishonesty & drunkeness.

But, if everyone lived by the Kingly Law, as stated by Jesus Christ - do unto others as you wish to be done by - there would be no wars.

We look at the religious leaders of the mainstream religions and what do we see? They condone homosexuality, divorce, marriage has gone by the board plus they support war. They are certainly no role models for the general populus.

If all religions were false and there was no God, then it might seem reasonable to eliminate religion. However, secular wisdom and materialistic philosophy have failed to blot out religious sentiment from this planet, and atheistic political powers and philosophies have been no more successful. For decades, totalitarian, atheistic Communism branded religion as superstition and “the opium of the people,” removed religious leaders from office and banned their activities, destroyed or looted churches and temples, and brainwashed and murdered worshipers. Yet, such actions did not eliminate religious sentiment. As soon as those governments toppled, religion rose out of the dust with seemingly renewed vigor. In lands formerly Communist, people are again rallying to their old temples, kneeling down in devout worship as their ancestors did before them.

But what if there is a God?
It is human nature to look for a leader.

Pack animals need an alpha animal.

Sports teams need a captain.

Armies need a general.

And the human race needs to feel that there is someone in charge.

As time moves on, we relies that the last thing we worshiped was a bit silly.

We worshiped the trees and the sky.

We worshiped a selection of gods for different things.

Now we worship a variety of "one god" characters.

Looking back, we think it was a bit naive to have a god of love, a god of wine, a god of war, a god of hunting, etc.

In time, we will realise it was equally naive to have a god of everything.

Hopefully, by that time, humanity will realise that there is no real need to create gods of any sort.

And then, perhaps religion can end?
No,Jesus’ answer to you is that a mighty witness about God’s Kingdom is being given in all nations before this system’s end comes! (Mark 13:10)

That is despite the fact, all political, religious, and commercial elements of this world as well as its propaganda channels are being influenced by him, and you.

What, then, accounts for the amazing success of the witness work? It has to be Jehovah’s backing. Thus, the Kingdom-preaching work proceeds marvelously despite Satan’s attempts to stop it.
