The gospels were written more than 50 years after Jesus’s death – given the inability of today’s journalist to get the facts correct less than 24 hours after the event, it is hardly surprising that much of the gospels content is likely to have been exaggerated over the passage of time.
We were discussing this the other day and Naomi thought that Jesus, were he alive today, would be advocating a vote for Labour, and who am I to gainsay Naomi ( ! )
I've always thought that the raising of Lazarus was an ill considered miracle. After his resurrection he would have been pointed at and, people being what they are, taunted with calls of, 'Undead', and worse.

agchristie....If Jesus were around today, his "miracles" would be examined in minute and exacting detail, by every media organisation in the world. But as I am an Atheist, he would have a job on his hands to convince me !

I think he would have been on the picket lines with the Miners, rather than the other way around. At least that is the way that I was brought up to believe Jesus would have behaved !
