As to what regard Muslims are to show for those who don't believe, the Quran says to be ruthless toward them, since they are going to Hell anyway:

Quran (9:73) - O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination


Quran (66:9) - O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. Hell will be their home, a hapless journey's end.

That's a very easy, somewhat glib, statement to make, sandy. But I haven't heard of any stoning's or beheadings in Belfast, whereas they are an everyday occurrence in Muslim countries.

Just recently there was a debate here on the subject of abortion. Not on demand, but abortion when the foetus had no chance of survival after birth. Nearly all local politicians were against it. Just one example but illustration of a mindset that wouldn't be out of place in in the company of followers of the stricter interpretation of Islam.
