At least the present Pope's improved stand on homosexuals helps to keep the catholic faith somewhat in line with general Society morality. Unlike some other religions which are steadfast or have returned to their archaic beliefs and thus attracts the most monstrous and barbarous idiots.
Doctrine rather than faith?

The duty of the Church is to preach the eternal verities (stated most famously in the Nicene creed), Wildwood. "Keeping the Catholic faith somewhat in line with current morality" (for which I read "keep in with today's moral fads") is a betrayal of that sacred trust.
"Thou art Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church".
