Jehovah's Witnesses On The Streets !

Earlier this week, I made a rare visit to a McDonalds for lunch and I noticed a large free-standing perspex leaflet holder standing outside in the pouring rain, full of JW stuff. Inside, in some seats closest to the door were some obviously JW-looking people. Perhaps I don't go to McDonalds often enough but I have never seen that before !

And today I saw something similar outside my local Lidl ! On both occasions they appeared to be having no takers but I did wonder if this meant that we will not be plagued so often in our own houses on a Saturday morning ?

I don't know mikey but we had them at the door this morning. Luckily OH answered and gave them short shrift. I always feel I have to be polite and chat.

Yes they're annoying but at least they're not a threat to us or trying to blow up the world.

They used to come and knock on my door. I would usually take whatever they give and thats it. Now I have printed a few copies of this and I give them to read when anyone comes to my door. But mind you its been long time and they now usually miss my door.

How odd - they've been a-knocking down our street this week too. Maybe it's a Black Friday sale? They never knock on ours since I told them I was Jewish.

They seem to go quiet and then gather themselves for a general onslaught. Probably best be prepared for one knocking at the door (I invited one in once and had a very interesting discussion). Usually now I say 'Roman Catholic, sorry). Next time I may say 'Muslim' - should get rid of them.

Islay here! here! Well said A simple no thank you and a smile is sufficient. Why be nasty? -it says more about the person than the JW -I bet they would not have that attitude if someone was coming around for charitable donations to a cat or dogs home.

Neighbours mother is a JW and at Halloween she put a sign on the door for people not to knock due to the kids. I did feel like shouting hypocrit!

I give anyone knocking on the door a hard time or a stonewall. There a a gazillion ways to attract funds and support nowadays without interrupting McGyver.
