I reckon primary school pupils spend about 30 minutes a week on RE max. Mornings are spent on Literacy and Numeracy, afternoons are 2 1/4 hours long which have to include spellings, geography, science, history, PE (twice a week), Art, ICT, RE and afternoon break - the pupils are not going to be looking at ANY religion in enough detail to gain enough information to make much of a decision on any of them.
Do you actually read replies and take the information in? They aren't learning much about any religion, there's only so much time to fit everything in. They aren't brainwashed about Islam or ANY religion. Isn't it a shame that parents can't equip their children with the tools to make an informed choice or do parents expect schools to 'teach' their kids everything?
Some of these posts convince me that the world has gone mad. The people who are setting these tasks should be utterly ashamed of themselves - but they're not because they're stupid - and there they are teaching the new generation with the blessing of those who can't see the wood for the trees. Sheesh!
