Millions of people today want to know how to overcome problems and enjoy happy lives. History is a record of the events of man’s past. There is more than one way of looking at such history, of course. On the one hand, it is said that those who refuse to learn from the past are condemned to repeat it. On the other hand, many now assert that ‘history is no benefit.

You're not here to enjoy this life; your reward is in the next.

The past is interpretable in various ways. There is always someone who points out how something the past could have acted as a warning for a more recent issue. But that is more a case of highlighting the apparent "hits" after the event.
Apart from an understanding of causes, history can only be perceived as a series of disassociated unexplained random events.

So what are the benefit well without government there would be no order; it would be no less than mob rule. And if you have ever seen a mob in action you know what that would mean—for in a mob people take the opportunity to vent hatred, greed and viciousness, feeling that no one will identify them for punishment.

So what the benefit of this, well what hope is there of seeing a truly just and altogether good government? What would it require? First of all, the ruler would have to possess absolute authority, not being obliged to reconcile the conflicting opinions of a body of imperfect men. One that is just and fair in every respect. Wisdom and love would be needed in order to follow and apply the law for everyone’s benefit. What human today could fill such requirements?

Yet the Bible says that God “has set a day in which he purposes to judge the inhabited earth.” (Acts 17:31) For many people the prospect of being subjected to any kind of judgment is unwelcome. Is that how you feel?

I feel a maker should first accept their own responsibility for creating flawed creations before even considering if they have any right to pass blame onto those same creations and judge them.
In Buddhism, they say that most of human suffering is caused by people thinking that they are not getting what they feel they deserve.
