The Bishop Speaks Out
25 Answers
The Bishop of Regensburg, Rudolf Voderholzer, said on January 30 that there could be no reconciliation between Christians and Muslims. Islam is a "post-Christian phenomenon, with the claim to negate the core content of Christianity," he said. "Only those who do not know their own faith or do not take it seriously can consider a comprehensive integration of Islam as possible."

Islam still demands that women are family property and are inferior to men.
Any deviation from Allah's word, be it by action or belief, can be met with the most gruesome consequences.

O.G. In a sense, Judaism is probably one of the world's oldest religions, -there was some form of what became Taoism earlier- then came Hinduism, Confucianism, Buddhism, Christianity, which have all interacted to some degree, only the latest; Islam has tried to suppress by force all the others.

Naomi - I think my point is perfectly clear - but if you need it explaining, I am delighted to do so.
Islamist extremists believe that their view is the only view, and anyone else should be destroyed. The notion of living side by side with anyone who thinks differently from them is simply not conceivable.
It would appear that Bishop Volderholzer is of exactly the same view - the typical lofty superior 'I have something you don't, and that makes me a better person than you' view of the high-minded Christian bigot.
Even I know that Jesus spent a lifetime trying to unite people and bring them together to love each other, and that was his wish, and the wish of God, so if I can see that, why can't he?

andy-hughes, //The notion of living side by side with anyone who thinks differently from them [Islamist extremists] is simply not conceivable.//
In that case the Bishop is right. It is impossible to live side by side with those who deem it inconceivable.
//Even I know that Jesus spent a lifetime trying to unite people and bring them together to love each other, and that was his wish//
That’s a popular fallacy – but a fallacy nonetheless.
