I don't know why you're worrying about it, Goodlife. According to you, you're not headed for disaster so you'll be ok. Personally, I'll take what comes. I'll die and that will be that.
As Togo says, of course we are eventually heading for disaster. I heard a programme some time ago which explained in graphic detail that the core of the Earth was expanding irredemiably and that eventually the whole planet would blow open. It was very scientific and serious. Goodlife, Revelations contains many prophecies, calm down, please.
What I fear most is two things. Ever having to bury one of my children, and the probability that when I eventually get old(er) I become infirm and - heaven forbid - am forced through circumstances to live in an incapacitated condition where continued assistance will be required. I highly value my independence and would be devastated is either were to happen.
If I was to adhere to your religious beliefs, I could blame your omnipotent diety.
I fear the callousness of a society that is entrapped by fear and corruption. Corralled like cows to be fleeced and milked by unscrupulous companies and dubious governmental precedents Where materialistic desires overcome compassion, where selfishness is tolerated as a survival necessity. Where common decency is supplanted by an I'm alright jack attitude. I fear the now.
