With so many scientists believeing in God, and proofs such as intelligent design established, and the valid criticisms of evolution not being successfully challenged, would you now at least consider the possibility of a universe created by a conscious mind, God?
So many great highly intelligent people never questioned the existence of God, so does that not give you pause for thought?
J.C. Ryle, Tozer, Spurgeon, Hudson Taylor, Isaac Newton, to name just a tiny few?
If you embrace atheism, ask yourself, do you know more than these people?
And what do you know?
Denying it is akin to Zeno's paradox. In effect it is claiming that a long journey cannot be accomplished by small steps since the long journey has never been observed even though the steps have.
I have a friend who is a Christian and I wouldn`t dream of knocking her faith. However I did say to her that if she`s right and there is a God, then when we die she could say to me `I told you so` but if I`m right, and I`m pretty sure I am, then I can`t say the same back to her lol Just thought I`d throw that piece of useless but harmless information in :)
Oh I know what you mean, Fairlight......as an atheist living in a very religious family it niggles me that I'll never be able to say......Told you so!...... ;-)
I spoke to someone the other day, old fella in the coffee shop, who interestingly thought that your 'soul' for want of a better word does survive death and decides what will happen to it after death, so if you're an atheist you will just cease to be, if a Christian go to heaven or hell depending on what you personally feel you deserve etc etc. I'd never really thought of the possibility that we might all be right before x
