Many texts have been misunderstood for years until contemporary events have unlocked them.

Those scriptures were written by Jews, for Jews.
Yes of course, it is always possible to put your own slant on meanings, but a believer prayerfully studies it under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
And what if there are two meanings? Or three?
They can all be true at once.
