Do we agree that we don't actually know how the universe came about (though science is constantly closing the gaps in our knowledge) and that postulating bronze age creation myths as answers to the 'hard' questions is frankly insane and ridiculous?

Think I'll have a lie down.
There is no point in claiming "answers" that are not proven. That implies we can stop looking....

Shall I wake you up before ur night night song?
We aren't doing "sense" today though, nailit. It's a bank holiday. Read the other two threads and please let me know if you are as bewildered as I am xx
I shall spring to life with only one caused cause ;-)
Ha!!

Pix, Have read them, Am bewildered myself :-(
Fewer things would get lost if folk tidied up after themselves - causes, chords, tempers and minds.

Never mind meds Pixie, I fancy a cheeky vodka.
Mummy and Daddy Nothing got together and kissed. Then Mummy Nothing had a whole universe in her tum tum. When she was really, really fat, the Universe came out of something near her bottom. Daddy Nothing caught it and threw it as hard as he could, causing it to explode with a big bang and lots and lots of little round things came out of it. Daddy Nothing said "We'll call them planets." Mummy Nothing agreed and that's where we all come from. So there. Makes as much sense to me as anything i've read in the bible:-/
I might join you after work, mamya. Been hard work on here today :-) xx
Glad to hear it, nailit. I genuinely had a few moments wondering if I was insane or if it was everyone else. A bit of both perhaps.
Bronze age creation explanations yet to be disproved.
But since they aren't really developing we can put them to one side and explore other avenues.
They don't need to be disproved. They haven't even been proved yet!
OG, when I was young, it was all steady-state theory with no first cause. But then big bang theory took over. And it is a good deal closer to biblical teaching. It probably wasn't on October 23 4004BC - but in effect it will have been some other, equally specific day.
pixie, by definition something that's been proved can't be disproved.
