If there is a God, why has such a supposed loving almighty allowed such a tragic event to happen.

Do we humans not have free will and are masters of our own fate ? How can someone called God be everywhere and stop every single disaster, horror and major catastrophe that occurs in the world ? Maybe it's the devil who's doing it all, because if you believe in God, then equally shouldn't you believe in the devil ? Maybe one day we will all know the answer, but right now, I don't think we have any real idea at all.
Theland, //Genesis - Adam and Eve had a choice. Obey God or please themselves. They chose the latter.//
You’ve got to admit it was all a bit sneaky though. A nice, juicy bit of fruit dangling there temptingly just waiting to be eaten but according to the story they weren’t made aware of the consequences of eating it so hardly a fair and informed choice. I mean, had they realised they’d be evicted from their home they might have chosen differently. God always had some nasty little tricks up his sleeve – but that’s God for you.

You know what else is vile? Using the tragic death of 39 people as an excuse for religious point scoring. It shouldn't matter whether there is a God or not, it wasn't any deity who put there people in the back of a lorry.
This event has seemingly struck a cord amongst certain nonbelievers as an argument towards God's existence (or not), just as the other thread turned into a one-man war against Brexit. You should be asking why people can be so evil. Using this tragic event as fuel for your own petty arguments makes you look like an a-hole Hans.

A child dying of cancer doesn't do it of their own free will and isn't master of their own fate.
Am I seeking to blame god for it? Of course not. I don't think god exists. It's for the people that think he does to ponder over why the above might happen.
