Is Corbyn-led Labour prepared to ditch the Jewish vote in order to maintain a high Muslim one?
According to research by Birmingham University, using data from the British Election Study, both the Anglican and Catholic vote for Labour has declined in recent elections while more voters with no religious affiliation supported Corbyn (47 per cent) than the Conservatives (38 per cent) in 2017. With 85 per cent of Muslims thought to have backed Labour two years ago, some suspect that the party has willingly dispensed with its Jewish vote in favour of voters of other faiths or none at all.
