If asked for your opinion on our origins, the universe from nothing, life from lifeless materials, what do you say if you have no faith in God?

God did not come from lifeless materials, or any materials.
He is spirit, not material.
He created the material universe.
He is past and future eternal.

Seven minutes. As long as it takes to have a cup of tea :-)
That doesn't make any sense, theland, that God just is without any cause. Or that he appeared from lifeless materials. Where else has that ever happened? (To use your words).
As I am not working again for a bit, I will, for the last time, look at the link- but only because it is you x
I got halfway through :-). He said himself, that believing in God, was "struggling and wrestling". Why would you be so determined to believe in anything, that is so difficult to? What is the purpose, or the advantage?
This man, as the last one, has clearly already decided what he "wants" to believe... and is quite clear about it.
Surely.... more people want the right answer, than the easy one? Are humans really that rubbish, that they think think they need to have all the answers and that they are "loved" by something, anything...?

Could you please explain to me, as I have asked a few times.... how God either appeared out of nothing, or was always around. How did that happen?
Where did god find all the material needed to make us, the world, other planets etc? If he created it, what did he create it from?

I know, he said ‘Let there be light’ and all the rest of it, but that’s not believable to me.

57 minutes, but the answers you want are here.
God did not appear out of nothing.
God simply is, above and outside of the thing He created, that is, time.
Question Author
Think of anything in this universe, everything has a cause.
It is impossible to have an infinite regression, and we know time is not past infinite.
This takes us back to the moment of creation, by the ultimate first cause.

Cleverjo - Gods existence is not predicated on your belief in Him.
He is there whether you believe it or not, whether you like it or not.
Question Author
Apologies for shortish answers.
My i pad keeps crashing.
\\ He is there whether you believe it or not, whether you like it or not.//
Theland, you are stating this as a fact, where's your proof?

\\ I suggest, Ravi Zacharias.//
Perhaps you could explain his quote:
Truth by definition excludes.

And how about this doozie:
I have infinite knowledge that there is no being in existence with infinite knowledge.

Vulcan - Can you address the first cause issue?
And that's before we even approach the question of an ultimate authority for morality.
But is you have already made up your mind then anything I say is pointless.
Look at the original question.
I was asking how, without God, the universe came into being.
Follow that with life from inanimate matter.
I think - New Year - same Groundhog Day!
Theland - // God did not come from lifeless materials, or any materials.
He is spirit, not material.
He created the material universe.
He is past and future eternal. //

Why don;t you print that out in large letters, paste it over your monitor, and every time you feel the urge to start a thread like this one, read it, and you can save yourself, and everyone else, a lot of valuable time.
If I ask 'Where does God come from ?' I get daft answers like 'He has always been there' or 'He is everywhere' !
If a conjectured God simply is, why can't a universe we can see simply be, thus avoiding an additional layer of complication that solves nothing ? Without evidence or proof Occam's Razor bids us to disregard that step.

Andy - If you see a question from me, why don't you ignore it?
What compels you to read it and then expend energy commenting?
Jesus. How many times can one man ask the same question?
Question Author
Zacs - Do my posts compel you to read them?
Theland, you continue to make claims that have no substance. If you really believed what you say you believe other people’s opinions would be irrelevant to you so why continually seek endorsement? Why not just quietly believe what you want to believe? That way no one will argue with you.
// an ultimate authority for morality [God]. //

That has to be a truly sick joke ... but we won't go there right now.
