Cant imagine millions of devout muslims
acquiescing, neither do I see millions of Catholics aquiescing or followers of other faiths.

Back in the 80s, when I was a teenager, it was peddled via Hal Lyndsy, books etc. (and others)

Nailit, I answered through bewilderment as much as anything else. Your religious encounters (ie encounters with anything religious) are much more varied than mine.
