Religionists. What Have You Got To Offer Me?
177 Answers
Seriously, what you got to offer me?
Or is it a case of what I can avoid!
I'm deadly (excuse the pun) serious. But what can your belief system/religion/spiritual tradition/ offer me except a free pass out of hell?
An eternity of Hallelujah's?
For Eternity????

God warned the Jews that by disobeying Him, He would scatter them amongst the nations. He did.
He said they would be persecuted. They were.
He said He would reestablish the land of Israel. He did.
He said he would regather His people. That is in progress.
Most Jews are agnostic or atheist, but God is allowing antisemitism to drive the Jews back to Israel.
This post is far from over but thats enough to be going on with.

//Jesus Christ can offer you peace of mind, and I can only recommend you go to Him//
Why do you seem intent to ignore that I was once a Bible Believing Christian?
Its almost as if you cannot comprehend that a believer can educate themselves into an opposing point of view?
You say
//Jesus Christ can offer you peace of mind, and I can only recommend you go to Him//
AND STILL Completely bypass my OP.
AND STILL Completely overlook my love for friends and family...who should, accordingly to your Theology, be burning at this very moment, in a fiery pit.
I dont think that Jesus Christ can actually offer me any kind of solice if I went to him.
Not while he's burning my family in hell anyway...

Dear Nailit, because you have "educated yourself" into opposition to the truths of the Bible, why do you think that precludes you from a relationship with the Saviour? While we are alive, there is an opportunity for us to repent, and find salvation in Jesus, rather than live a live of misery, bitterness, and constant arguing with people whose beliefs we say we oppose. The Apostle Paul himself, was possibly one of the fiercest opposers of Christ, in his day, yet He found that there was nothing in the heart of God against Him when he met a Lover on the Damascus Road. You and I too, can find complete peace, by simply returning to Christ, and finding forgiveness and mercy. God doesn't desire the death of the sinner, but sent His only Son to die to save us from a lost eternity. Greater love has no man than this, than a Man lay down His life for His friends. It would be a tragedy for any one of us to turn our back on the God who loves us, to use our natural thinking and human logic to continually resist and fight against a Creator who Has nothing but the best in mind for us. In the very unlikely event your logic and human learning is right, and God is wrong, does that mean our existence and everything is completely meaningless, pointless, and by sheer chance and co-incidence? Personally, I find, as do countless thousands of others, simple faith, belief, hope and witnessing the millions of lives transformed by Christianity, including a living relationship with the Man Jesus Christ, with not only current salvation (happiness, joy, peace, satisfaction now) and eternal salvation (a future eternity infinitely better than this life), to be a better option. I really hope you find (or rediscover perhaps) whatever it is you are searching for. Best wishes.

PPedant: Don't think it was the Anglo-Saxons who believed in Valhalla. Think it was those pillaging blonde geezers.
Paignton how kind of you to read my stuff.
The Anglo-Saxons believed in the concept of Valhalla, if maybe by a different name. A concept they would have brought with them from their continental homeland.
- they had communal dining halls where they had a poss up and meal and discussed these things afterwards

//Nailit, you’ve had a lot to cope with lately and I can see you’re in pain. Perhaps you could take a break from R&S for a little while//
You dont know how much I appreciate that sentiment naomi x
But life goes on and I *HONESTLY* don't understand how any right thinking person would want to worship a god...for eternity... while said god is torturing their loved ones in some kind of 'just' hell for ever.
But that aside, what can religion offer me? (As per the OP)
Nothing as yet it seems.
Some vague Amen's and hallelujah's in heaven.
Thats about it.
Or some kind of eternity on a paradise earth without actually explainig how that would work...
