Hi Theland, sorry to hear that you have been unwell - hope that everything will be sorted soon and that you will be back in good health.

I'm sure I heard you say before that you used to be an Athiest - and I just wanted to ask you how you found God? Did you have any interest in religion prior to this? and how did your family cope with your new faith?

I know Thelands back, but was unaware he'd been, or still is, unwell, if thats the case, I wish him a speedy recovery, as i'm sure everyone else does.

Fingerprint - Yes I was an atheist. Although christened and married in a C of E church, I really didn't believe, never gave it much thought, and although made to go to church as a kid, I thought it was boring and hogwash.
Then me and the missus went to the pictures to see the Exorcist, (about 1978), and at the end there was a bible quote on the screen about the mark of the beast, 666.
I spoke about it in work, didn't know the meaning, and a born again Christian, (I didn't know he was until then), explained it, then went on to explain the whole concept of Christianity, how Jesus died for our sin to satisfy Gods' perfect justice.
It made sense to me, and the rest is history. (I was 29 then). I didn't become a Christian in a flash, for me it was much more gradual.
I'm off to work in a minute, so not much time to write much more.

Yes, Theland, tell us more. What actually convinced you?

What was most convincing for me, was the fact that the prophecies regarding Israel are so uncannily accurate.
Israels history is literally written in advance in the Bible.

Thanks for your answer Theland, do you feel happier with your life now than before, and would you say your faith has made you a better person?

Theland, sorry to add another question before you've answered the last, but if the Old Testament was what swayed you, did you never consider converting to Judaism rather than becoming Christian?

Fingerprint - Yes, without a doubt I am a better person now than before, and I do feel happier with my life.

Naomi - Good point, but the Bible, old and new teataments, are a whole, referring to each other, and a single golden thread runs through both, the Lord Jesus Christ.
