What is it like to have faith in god?

Maybe I ought to clarify this question. Theland said that he doesn't think the Christians ABers have adequately explained what it is like to have faith in god, so I thought I'd give them a proper opportunity without us all barracking them - at least until they've finished explaining.

Hey Theland, I think you have always coped remarkably well under fire from us all shooting questions left, right and centre at you and I admire your tenacity in upholding your personal belief.
If I ever thought I'd hurt someone's feelings on here I would sign myself out of Answerbank for good.

What is it like to have faith in God?
At its simplest, it is living in the knowledge that there are absolutes, and that not all things are simply relative.
You often said that in years gone by, you also searched for meaning, for absolutes, but didn't find any. Had you had done so, then you would probably have been sharing my views, but it didn't happen. That's not to say that it never will of course.
My questioning of atheism in the past is my curiosity as to how people can find comfort in the absence of the absolutes that I take for granted.
