I watched the passion of the christ and i dont understand why he had holes in his hands when he was resurrected. Is this to show that wounds run deep? Also, after Jesus was resurrected where did he go? Was there like a gateway to heaven?

Its a fairy story. Dont worry about it.
There is a line of thought that says he didn't die on the cross, but recovered, and as I don't believe that he was the son of god, or supernatural in any way, I think that's what really happened.

However, to answer your question, according to the official story, the resurrection meant he came back to life so his body was real - he wasn't a ghost - so he would still have borne the marks of the nails on his hands (although, in reality, the nails would have been put through his wrists). Forty days after the rescurrection he was taken up (or ascended) bodily into heaven - so it seems he just floated up into the sky and was gone.
He went to Kashmir where his tomb still lies . At the base of his Sarcophagis there are casts made of his feet that show the holes from nails. there is no way he would have crossed Europe and went to France, that would have been suicide, Romans everywhere. It makes sense that he went in the other direction.
May i also add, i do not think he was the son of God... He was the Dali Lama of the day.. With the Kashmir thing, this is the tomb of such a Dali Lama that left and came back, the dates match too, that when he was away, Jesus was in the middle east.
reachesme - I've read about this - and I think it's highly likely.
reachesme - do you know any more about it? Interesting, isn't it.
I read about a couple of years ago but i have no idea where.
But this Dali lama wasn't born there and visited kashmir ithe first time when he was young, this was about the time as Jesus's birth. He appaently stayed there for a while, went away and came back, lived for many years and then died. The dates apparently correspond with Jesus's comings and goings in Jerusalem.
Just reading around and i obviously got the Dali lama bit wrong as the dates don't match, Jesus was around way before the dali Lamas, so i have assume it would be Buddha, obviously not the first one. But i am still searching.
Apparently the name of the tomb is Roza Bal its in Kashmir.
I've just been having a look at it, reachesme. Really fascinating. I've always thought Jesus had connections with the east, and I've always thought he studied Buddhism. I couldn't get the Dali Llama connection though, but you've cleared that one up now.
Happy Zombie Jesus Day!

I have a book here called 'The Lost Years of Jesus', and apparently there's a very strong tradition in Tibet & Nepal that Jesus (Issa) travelled there and studied the Vedas between the ages of 13 and 29, and also worked as a teacher there and in India. There may well be something in all this.
Hi Whicker, I think there could well be something in it. There's a lot of evidence to suggest he didn't die on the cross - and all those lost years? Wouldn't it be incredible if it could be proven? Of course, it could well cause one or two problems!! I'll have a look for that book. Thanks.
