Satan. He used to work for God but decided he wanted to be the boss of his own life. God cast him out and things really soured with Satan doing bad stuff just to get at God. To really annoy God Satan even tricked human into working for his side.
Once God decides that Satan has bedeviled us fo long enough He is going to sort it all and everything wil be good for some while those who don't take God's side will be destroyed.
The philosophy is centered around the need to worship a God conceived by a twisted schitzophrenic called Abraham. Killing in the name of God is at the core of the philosophy.

In the spirit of fair play and less to do with my own personal beliefs I'm pretty sure that if you look in the bible, after God sent the floods to wipe out all the corruption (Noah and the Ark story) he did say that this was the last time and he wouldn't be getting involved any more on that level. Perhaps that would apply to natural disaster prevention too.
The problem with a question like this, where the anwers involve both God and the Devil, is that in reality, the Devil and God are one.
God knows, or so we are told, everything that is going to happen, and he has the power to stop disasters, but if he planned them, he has no interest in stopping them, as they are all part of his master plan.
Whatever that is, (God knows).

God created everything "good," so we are told in the Bible. Sin entered into the creation, through Mans' misuse of his God given free will, and sin corrupted the creation.
Gods' plan is to redeem His creation from sin, and that includes us.
We still have free will, we still have a choice. Blaming God for a corrupted world with its wars, cancer, hunger, earthquakes and tsunamis etc, is to miss the point that the world is now, "damaged goods," and although we cannot change the world, we can change our little bit of it. To do that, we have to be open to Gods' presence in our hearts, and not deny Him, then by the power of His Holy Spirit, we can find the way forward, living less for ourselves and more for others.

I belive in the idea that God created all things. BUT I do not belive that God is responsable for any of the natural disaters we see around us today. He does nor cause them or bring them upon mankind.
People blame God because us humans seem to always want to blam something or someone. If something happens we do not understand we (mankind in general) will blam waht they can not see. In many instances it is God

Theland, pardon me, but according to you, God created everything - so it follows that he didn't create just the 'good'. Seems he doesn't want to take responsibility for the bad though - and since he refuses to speak for himself, you've volunteered to be his spokesman. With the way you spin stories, you ought to be in Government!! You're worming around again, you monkey!!
gordo, you, like Theland, are picking and choosing. You begin by saying you believe God created everything, but then speedily absolve him from taking any responsibility for things that aren't pleasant because it doesn't fit into your idea of a benign and loving God. Either he did create everything, or he didn't. You can't have it both ways.
I don't believe the biblical God is responsible for natural disasters either, because I don't think he exists. Natural disasters are exactly that - 'natural'.
