jojo, fate or faith? What do you think?
is human nature is the last taboo?
God made things, "good," but with the potential to go pear shaped through sin if wrong choices were made. It happens all of the time, when people buy an appliance and disregard the makers instructions, and then are puzzled when the appliance goes bang.
Holy scripture is among other things, the Makers instructions to us. As a race, we perpetuate sin and its consequences by ignoring the Makers instructions.
Global warming could be said to be an example of this, but I personally do not believe that global warming as it is presented by the scaremongers is true. AIDS and other S.T.D.'s are, however, the very real consequences of sin. That is proven time and time again. This fact is relevent to the original question from Luna-tic.
But, Theland, if that's the case, bearing in mind that God knows everything, then he clearly knew what would happen before he created everything - including AIDs - so what is he up to? "Ah, here's a good idea .... create something that I know will cause havoc and misery to mankind - and then just sit back and watch the mayhem." Seems a very twisted perspective to me.
God was the ultimate cause of that which caused the "Big Bang". Everything since then is the result of evolution and God does not meddle therewith.

Nature, acting as a result of evolution, is responsible for natural disasters.

The result of natural disasters or even "evil" deeds of men have no durational relevance in the scheme of things in relation to eternity.

i choose

i chose to be born, to live or die,
Even the sex, that would be i;
i chose the race, from which to appear,
Also my wealth, my health and my fear.

i chose my trials and stumbling blocks,
And the legs i would use, in all of those walks;
i chose my sadness, my joy and my love,
i chose to serve and not be above.

i chose this life with all of its dues,
And with each dawn, again i choose;
The experiences for me that wait ahead,
To be alive, or be claimed dead.

And of the future lives i've yet,
It is my choice that i begat;
All the things, however pleasin',
That shall befall me in those seasons.
Remember the story about Adam and Eve? Earth is supposed to be a place like heaven. But Satan intervened and human was tempted to commit sin. From there on, we are given the freedom to choose from what is right and wrong and to live with our consequences. God is there to guide us like our parents. But as a parent, He does respect our own way of dealing with things although that would mean him being disappointed. That's why we are above all living things because we can think of our own. We are neither animals or robots that need to follow what is being told or commanded.

Let us not point finger to each other rather look at the positive side of everything. Lots of people have been harmed and died. Families were left grieving for them. But if we all understand the cycle of life, we will understand that grief should not conquer us. We will all die in the end anyway. Only that they made it first. But if you do believe in heaven and life mission, you'll know that those dead people are probably of where they are right now. They died because they have done their mission in life. On the otherhand, God let it happen to remind us to value life (like doing good), and to remember Him. Mostly people do remember him only in times of troubles. But in happiness, they have forgotten to say thank you to God who has answered their prayer.

If God intends to save life because it's not yet time, think about the miracles. they are the proof. Like the baby in Japan wrapped in a coat. It's amazing that she survived the raging tsunami and was reconciled with her parents. I've also read this article with the aftermath of Joplin tornado. There's an amazing video of how people survived the passing tornado by uniting. If you fear death or lost of properties, then it would be wise to get insurance. It will greatly help just in case.
