I've just received a PM on Sportsbank from Theland - and he's not at all well. He's taking early retirement from his job at the end of next week, and had hoped to find other work, perhaps on a part time basis, but he hasn't managed to do that, and is very down. If any of his friends on AB would like to post a word or two of support to cheer him and to encourage him to look on the bright side, I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

In the sense that we're both atheists when it comes to Islam, Theland, yes, I suppose so. Then we're both atheists really; out of the many hundreds of deities, there's only one we disagree on.

Is Theland married or what. If not why not frig off to Africa for a few years and help out with Trocaire or something. Come back feeling refreshed mayhaps.

One could argue the point that when one has a family of one's own, one moves on from only caring for oneself only, to making their lives and happiness the priority and thereby foregoing the right to succumb to feeling sorry for oneself.
I certainly wish Theland good health and all future fufilment and happiness.
Glad to see that he's well enough to post on my 'agnostic' thread. I'll answer him there, rather than spoil this message.

Question Author
Styley, Theland has a wife and family - and his son has a very severe disabilty, so Africa isn't an option. Theland isn't feeling sorry for himself - he's concerned about his ability to provide for his loved ones in the future. When our lives are changing to any great degree, we do worry - that's human nature. It's also, hopefully, human nature to, now and then, put ourselves in others' shoes, and in times of need, to extend the hand of friendship and to find it in our hearts to feel a little compassion for them.

I have sent you a message but I am not sure if you will receive it because of the vagaries of the pm service on here at present.

I hope the goodwill to you on here helps you.

Metaphorical hugs and kisses to you
