I have said this before and i'll say it again. You da man!

I've not seen you lose one argument on this thread and your obviously incredibly intelligent. I really wish people would pay more attention to what you say rather than just pull up pointless obscure nonsense as a factual point.

just been reading the proving god existed thread and it shows that islam is full of as much crud as the bible is.

thanks really

Thank you, that's really nice (albeit slightly embarrassing) to hear. I'm sure there are plenty more who wish I'd shut up occasionally!

There are a wealth of intelligent contributors on these threads - on both sides(*) - and as I was trying to get across to Keyplus recently, arguments should stand or fall on their own merits, not because of who made them.

(*) Obviously 'my' side is best and the other side smells of wee.
The Sherman Once again, you are taking Waldos words to decide if Islam is good or bad. Have you studied it yourself. I know what you would say.

Just to let you know, here is the list of few people who reverted to Islam. I am sure they are well informed and educated. And they did study all the Religions and Atheism before making their mind. Perhaps you should try and look into things yourself along with others experience. And I usually say that to everyone (including Muslims) that read what Quran says yourselves and do not listen to at least those people who does not have in depth knowledge. Which makes sense. For example.

1 -If I have a Heart problem I should see my GP and not the boiler Engineer.
2 If there are two Doctors. One is my GP and the other is a Cardiologist then I should listen to the Cardiologist and not the GP if their opinions are different.

Keyplus, what are your major objections to the religious teachings in the list below, please?

Please confirm how much time you have spent studying these religions and your qualifications to determine their legitimacy, as one should not listen to people who do not have an in depth knowledge.

Jainism
Wicca
Mormonism
Scientology
Santera
Raelism
Rastafarianism
Animism
Shintoism
Zoroastrianism

I have more, but those will do to go on with.
None of these I consider Religions. They are people who have gone onto the branch lines leaving the main line behind. And sooner or later these branches always go back and meet up with the main stream.

Main Religions in this world are, Christianity, Judaism, Islam. Others are beliefs on the basis of few assumptions.

And Myself, I would repeat my words again, I have never called myself an expert of any Religion, One thing I do now, Thanks to the advancement of media. I do read and watch debates between the Well known Scholars of different Religions. And by just doing that,

1 - you can learn about all the religions,
2 - From all the well known people with In Depth knowledge.
Thank you - you illustrate the point entirely adequately.
"They are people who have gone onto the branch lines leaving the main line behind. And sooner or later these branches always go back and meet up with the main stream."

Just to clarify, is this a railway or river metaphor?
Tomorrow you will call Sunni or Shia;h a Religion. People will agree with you? or Roman Catholic, Protestantism, Evangelicalism, are these all Religions.
Zoroastrianism a branch line?

I think you are rather showing yourself up there keyplus!

Zoroastrianism was a major and respected monotheistic religion in Iran when the ancestors of your prophet were wandering around the desert worshiping dust storms!

Jainism is even older.

Listening to you putting down other religions does rather put me in mind of Gullivers travels with the the Liliputians fighting wars over which end of an egg to open.

The only difference being I do have to feel that the egg is probably rotten!
Jake, whilst I readily admit to being an avid Waldo fan (I've been after the Fan Club secretary's job for ages!), that was extremely finely put, if I may say so.
If that's the criteria, then Christianity and Islam are merely branch lines of Judaism and sooner or later these branches always go back and meet up with the main stream...

Even if we accept your point, (and Scientology, Raelism, Shintoism and Zoroastrianism have no antecedants, and several of the others are no more denominations than Islam is a denomination of Judaeism) you've still dismissed Hinduism and Bhuddism. How do you know they have no worth? Shouldn't you study them all? etc etc.

Do you not get it Keyplus do you still not understand that everytime you open your mouth you do more to turn me away from your religion. You are blinded by your own faith!

I freely admit that i know less about Islam than I do about christianity BUT if Islam goes against evolution then i already know it to be false.

If it explains about dinosaurs and neandethal man and fossils and all those wondrous things that have given us a greater understanding of this planet and how it works then me and you can talk.
All I am saying is that Apart from three Abrahamic Religions, the others are not proper Religions. Or might have been the changed shape of even earlier Religions as you said. As far as being old is concerned, of course there were other Prophets before Ibrahim (pbuh) so these people might have evolved from those teachings, Of course God did send so many messengers, who we do not even know about. According to Quran (I know you will not agree) Only Religion is submission to God. And all the prophets gave the same message.

And you are 100% right that before Muhammed people were worshiping Dust storms but Muhammed showed them the right way and same dust worshippers later produced best Historians, scientists, and scholars afterwards.

I know this is a 'we love waldo page' But also Jake Naomi you do teach me a lot as well so thank you too!

Its just waldo is ace to read in action, when someone gets his back up.....stand back.

also if someone can prove Waldo wrong on something in religious context I will be amazed and surprised.

Sherman - You go against Islam, or against whatever you like. That is not going to change this world. Yes your one point is right, you know more about Christianity, Had you known more about Islam then You would not have evolved from Monkeys. What a waste?

Opening my mouth, Yes I would keep on doing it, I know many people do not like this here and that is giving me more determination. I am aware of the fact that I am up against a TEAM. But that does not change any thing.
Waldo - Islam did not come out of Judaism. Islam came when Adam came to this world. Muhammed is not the founder of Islam. I know you are knowledgeable enough to understand that. Few things are similar in Islam, Christianity and Judaism only because source is same.
I do not want to waste my views on this thread.
Quite right. Save them up for a special occasion. They're ace.
No one can prove Waldo wrong because he is determined not to acknowledge any thing. Otherwise you go to other threads and read it for yourself.

"His Crow is white". If you do not understand what this means, ask Waldo.
Keyplus if you can prove waldo wrong - ABOUT YOUR OWN DAMN RELIGION THE THING THAT YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE BY- THE THING THAT HAS DICTATED HOW YOU INTERACT WITH EVERYTHING AROUND YOU!!!!!!

then come back and you will find you have a voice that i will gladly listen to. Just show me somewhere something that waldo is wrong on. You claim to listen to 'clever people' can you not obviously see that waldo is by far the most intelligent and the most learned on all the religions mentioned on answerbank?

Why do you rebuke Waldo on everything he teaches on this site? This site has challenged everything you stand for and i think you really cant handle it?

On a side note how long did it take you to learn how we all came to be on this planet?
did you read the line "god made us" and that was it! that was you a wise man compared to the years and years of experience it has taken someone like waldo to form his view on the world?
