Jesus Christ Is Lord.

In spite of all of the alleged evidence to the contrary, I am convinced that the atheistic view of the world is totally flawed, and unworthy of serious consideration.
We all have a duty to revise our beliefs in the light of new evidence, and I have revised mine accordingly as I learn more about my faith, and the misleading statements coming out of the world of science.
Science is depicted as noble and impartial, but scientists are also full of human failings, and will promote their own best interests even if this means ignoring or fabricating evidence.
How can the layman get through to the truth?
A lack of integrity and honesty is as apparent in scientific circles as it is in religious circles where each camp, on occasion, promotes its own agenda.
My faith is strong enough for me to declare, "Jesus Christ Is Lord."
So, hasn't science misled us, the very thing that religionists are often accused of?

Your view of life is flawed and wrong, and you can only hope to be saved from the fires of hell by accepting my view. It is fundamental and right. I am telling you, without fear of contradiction, that i am right and you are wrong, and nothing you can say can sway my faith.
Now, reread the above, and just think. I know what i've just written is bunkum, but i did so to make a point. As ridiculous as it sounds to you, you are telling me that by taking a similar stance that Jesus is god and everything else is wrong.
Until you can come up with a reasoned argument you will lose any debate on this, but it is my experience that the deeper people dive into religion, the less they are capable of making that distinction.
as for misleading statements, try the omission of the apocryphal gospels from the 'official' bible, the hijacking of Christiantity by the Pauline church, etc etc.

There is a tendency to promote scientists as latter day high priests. Look at Stephen Hawking. Clever? Not 'arf! So clever that his mathematics tell me that every single bit of material in the universe could be condensed into a singularity that would easily fit on to my kitchen table!
C'mon folks! Who is asking us to swallow a camel?
And hey Wiz, those scientists who sometimes show up other scientists for misleading everybody, well, even they have a hard time if they are creationists don't they?
The word, "funding," springs to mind.

What do you mean by saying 'there is a tendancy to promote scientists as latter day high priests'? In what way are scientists promoted like priests and by whom?
Also, can you explain more specifically why you are disagreeing with Professor Hawking's reasoning, Theland? I see an objection, but no argument to comment on, unless it's an argument from personal incredulity.

How often are scientists presented on the T.V. as infallible? Quite often in my opinion.
"Scientists believe .... " is a worn out phrase that accompnies most of their presentations. Not proofs though, no, beliefs.
And Hawkings reasoning? A singularity? His maths may take him there, but it is beyond experimental proof, but the theories are presented in such a way is to be viewed as irrefutable by the general public, which includes me.

Theland, just take a good look at the history of organised Christianity. 'A lack of integrity and honesty' - 'ignoring or fabricating evidence' - your words. You conveniently forget that Jesus was a Jew - and a devout Jew - and I can't see any evidence to tell me he had any wish to be anything other than a devout Jew. Think about it. The words 'plank' and 'eye' spring to mind.
I've not been mislead by scientists. I was mislead by christians though. The word funding springs to mind there too. BTW, I believe in God and the big bang and I don't believe you can teach me anything about God because I don't care how many books you've read on the subject, the fact remains, you are a man, here on earth and you know no more on the subject than myself. If I wanted a theology lesson I'd easily be able to access one by going to church, if I wanted to learn about God I'm afraid I'll have to wait till all my questions are answered at the end of my physical existence.
