I am a devout Christian. I believe the Bible is the infallible, inerrant Word of God. I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. I don't think I have ever met a true athiest. I am curious as to how you think, what do you believe will happen when you die? Where do you think the beauty that bestows us each and every day with the sunrise to the sunset came from?

Have you ever heard of Rico Tice? www.allsouls.org/ascm/allsouls/static/whoswho/tice.html;jsessionid= Our sunday school class just finished his series of "Christianity Explored". Perhaps some of you would be open enough to access the website and read. He is located at All Souls Church, Langham Place, London.

Thanks to all who have responded! I never dreamed there would be so many responses. Out of all of them only one says she has "some" faith...Again, this was not to step on anyone's toes, just wondering how those who are not Christians feel/believe.

wizard66: I know you are going to say "this is from the person who will not entertain the notion she may be wrong" when I ask that you view the Christianity Explored website. I will view anything you submit, but will not change my feelings on my faith.
USA Lady, you said "I believe that with the fall of Adam, sin entered the world at that time and every person born since is born to sin. "

Does this include Jesus?
Only just logged on and found this thread. I apologise if this point has been made before as I have tried to read everyones' posts but I'm a bit poorly sick and fuzzy.
My Grandmother is a devout catholic, she believes that all good things that have happened to her and her family are through the power of prayer. I myself would love to believe in something so unconditionally. To believe that if you live a good life and do good things you will be rewarded in the afterlife. I just don't! I need proof! The problem is that there are so many holes or conflicting statements in the Bible. E.g Adam created, Eve born of Adams' rib. They had two sons Cain and Abel. Cain killed Abel then went off and found himself a wife. Where did she come from??? So many more as well that I won't get into. Sorry I'm rambling but this is a subject I feel strongly about. Especially the point that if you believe that God gave man the power to become doctors e
Sorry, computer had a hissy fit and posted message before I was done.

If God gave man the power to heal, why do some branches of religion refuse their own children life saving proceedures on the concept that "they will live if it is Gods' wish"??

Daisy Mae: No, this does not include Jesus because I believe in the Trinity which means that Jesus, God and the Holy Ghost (Spirit) are one. Being that Jesus is God, then he is pure and blameless and without sin. John 1: 1-5

1 In the beginning was the Word (Jesus)
and the Word (Jesus) was with God,
and the Word (Jesus) was God.
2 He was with God in the beginning.
3 All things were created through Him,
and apart from Him not one thing was created
that has been created.
4 Life was in Him,
and that life was the light of men.
5 That light shines in the darkness,
yet the darkness did not overcome it.

to CJ242: I don't know why some branches of other religions deny their children or themselves medical attention.
UsaLady hold on to what you believe in, no matter what. If it gives you stability and peace of mind then go for it.
I believe in the word of Jesus because he had so much that what good to say.
I believe in God because I have had my moment with him and it changed me.
I see him in every wonder in this universe and every person I meet.
He is everything and all to me.
that is what I believe and no one will make me see it differently, not even you Keyplus.
My God is the goodness in this world. He is the lovely people I meet here like Niomi.
But I can only give my thoughts on it. What others make of it is up to them and I would not mock what they believe in any way or tell them it is wrong.
It is up to them.
If we took on board the one fundemental thing that Jesus wanted us to, love each other, then the world might just be a better place.

I agree entirely, but I don't believe in a God.

Just how I feel.
I love every one on here. Even you Doc. ;-)
My morality comes from within me. My love of nature comes from within me. I do not need a God. I have lived, I will die and a little of me will remain in the mind of others and my body will help to keep this earth going. That is enough for me.

"I believe the bible is inerrant, infallible Word of God because the Bible tells me that it was indeed written by man but was "God-breathed" meaning it is the inspired Word of God."

Anyone else spot a wee Jupiter-sized hole in that logic?

WaldoMcFroog: Not sure what you are alluding to here.

I am signing off and this will be the end of my participation in this debate. Again, I appreciate all the responses.....I will be praying for each and every one of you. May God Bless You!
Hmmm. Logic capabilities of the idiotic US preacher Ray Comfort.

Wonder what that was really all about.

Please don't pray for me either. It's not necessary.
