11:22 ........also the diciple he loved best some would suggest that was Mary from Magdalane .
I'm suprised that the Bible lover Naomi didn't bother to mention to you that Mary Magdeleine when she found the Tomb empty -rushed to tell the 'Beloved Disciple'. Clearly not her, then. But so few of you have actually read it.

Bible student rather than Bible lover, if you please, Brionon.
Yes, indeed - so few have actually read it - and the bits they have read they choose to recount selectively. During this period, of the four gospel writers, only John mentions the disciple that Jesus loved, and he doesn't say Mary rushed to tell the beloved disciple - he says that Mary ran to tell Simon Peter, and 'the other disciple whom Jesus loved', which could well mean that Jesus held special affection for more than one, so I don't believe we can necessarily dismiss Mary, or anyone else. Incidentally, as far as I'm aware, John is the only author who mentions the beloved disciple at all, and he's the only one who doesn't mention other women attending the grave with Mary. One has to question his agenda - and suspect that he was something of a misogynist.

Theland, I'm not concerned with Leonardo's painting per se.
What amuses me, and which you ignore in your bluster, is the way the Christian church is so determined not to admit that the person sitting on Jesus' right is a woman that it makes the preposterous claim that it is John. If the painting is of no importance - and it's of no consequence historically - then why is the Church being so silly? What are they afraid of?

I am not really interested in your wholesale belief in Dan Brrown but you do strike me is a bit of a numpty.
John isn't the only female-looking male Leonardo painted, look at some of his sketches - like Sigmund Freud did.
I think you'll find this female looking figure is decidedly male. I am guessing you might be clever enough to spot why, but you never know after some of the stuff you gob off.
