Firstly.... I would like to ask whether there are any of us out there who believe in ghosts and the paranormal?
Secondly......what experiences have you had of this?
Thirdly..........having an experience with a 'ghost' , does this not porve the existence of some sort of afterlife? being trapped in another realm etc etc

In the summer at this particular house, you could see daylight from the front door through to the back. One morning, as dawn was just breaking, I was putting the paper in the front door, when I saw what I took to be a candle flame coming down the stairs. As I watched, thinking the occupier was coming to the front door, the flame turned at the foot of the stairs and proceeded away from me towards the kitchen. It didn't hit me until I got to the front gate that I shouldn't have been able to see this "flame" if someone had been carrying it, after it turned to go towards the back of the house, and I didn't see against the light coming through from the kitchen any person. Whether that constitutes a ghost, I don't know. I do know they got their papers through the door at breakneck speed from then on!! The hairs on my neck still rise as I'm writing this.
Your question is designed to reinforce your beliefs not to find truth.
I might say
1/ Is there anybody out there who believes in fairies (eliminate those who do not share my views)
2/ What experiences do you have of fairies (share common beliefs)
3/ Isn't this proof? ( declare the results as proof)
No it's not proof because you haven't allowed any contrary evidence or even opinion which is necessary in the scientific method - proof is a word generally associated with the scientific method.
Let's play the game again
1/ Anybody a Christian?
2/ Like to share your experiences of being a Christian?
3/ Aren't Ghosts incompatible with Christianity?
4/ Doesn't this prove Ghosts don't exist?

a Few points
why do you only see ghosts at night? (which just happens to be the time our eyesight is weakest)
Whay are there not billions of ghosts -(e.g all those who died in concentration camps you'd think would still be around?)
Why is there not a single piece of evidence ever to prove there is a ghost?

Jake you merely done the same thing by confirming your atheistic beliefs , it is not my intention to get into a debate over this. I just enjoy viewing all different opinions including your own but I don't like to be slated and torn apart for what I pose on here as a question. I have my beliefs, you have yours.
1. I wouldn't rule it out.
2. I've never seen a ghost but my father has seen at least 2 that I am aware of. When he was about 10 he was sitting downstairs with his 2 younger sisters, his father was upstairs with his mother who was seriously ill. His mother appeared downstairs and kissed each of the children and left again. A short while later his father came to tell them that their mother had died.
On the second occasion we lived at my grandma's and at lunchtime we heard the front door open and close but no-one came into the room. My grandma wondered what my father (who was due in for his dinner) was doing and went to find him, she then came back into the room to fetch my mum......I was sent back to school. Apparently when she saw my father he was just stood, rooted to the spot, and his hair was literally standing on end, and he was staring at the stairs.......all he could recall later was being petrified and kept saying 'but she's dead' over and over.
3. I'm open minded.

I have a haunted house, ive had the paranormal team out and they have found quite a few, myself and daughter have both seen the same lady but a couple of weeks apart, im not worried or scared about them, but when im sitting watching tv you get a sudden cold blowing in your face that makes you shiver, only lasts for a second or two, all the write up is on there site online if anyone is interested.
Ankou,
I don't think there's any such thing as "undeniable evidence", even the scientific laws we all believe in get challenged from time to time. Just look at the kerfuffle that Einstein stirred up with his theories.
As to whether it is plain simple evidence then I'd say yes it was but it is only the word of one person.
To use Naomi's account above as an example (1) I don't personally disbelieve her but she could be lying to make a good story or support her argument. (2) Maybe she really believes what she says but is just mistaken in her interpretation, things like grief have funny effects on people or it could have been a very vivid dream that seemed real to her.
Sorry Naomi (That's a Green on Red Song, by the way), not doubting you just using you as an example to answer Ankou.
