A new twist on the BT internet scam.

I have just received a call purporting to be from BT from Visa telling me that there was a transaction of £600 on my account and that if I did not make it to press 1 immediately. Naturally I did, only to find it was supposed to be from BT about disconnecting my internet. Most people told about a dodgy card transaction would respond similarly so be on your guard.

No, never. Just hang up.
We just had the same call; wife has more sense than press any buttons.
I would never press any number after receiving a call like that. However, in case some people would it was perhaps a good thing the OPer highlighted it.
Well done!! You have now confirmed to them that they now have a valid 'phone number and that you have a Visa card. Expect more 'spam' calls
