My ebay account has been hacked & I can't even open it to inform them, I found
a phone number but the automated message just says go to "ebay.co.uk" but I can't even do
that as every time I try the page comes up -gobbled -de-gook- I've no other way of telling them.
I went to my email account & it came up with the sign in page & I did with my usual password
without thinking. I've changed the password now, but I'm really worried about what could happen,
what do I do now? Please help me someone....Ange

If Kids Guard is ticked/enables, turn it off, remember to ok any changes, then try ebay again.

You have Chrome on the laptop - is it a Chromebook?

What were you using on the Ipad - before the ebay app? Was it Safari?

Question Author
I did try that link Tuvok & it's just the same.
Question Author
Tuvok the laptop isn't a chromebook and I've got chrome on my ipad as well as it's the only one I really know.
Question Author
...so if it works on the ipad surely it should work on the laptop, or doesn't it work like that?
Thank you all for lots of help and patience, it's really meant so much to me. Ange x
Just switch the laptop down so that it has to re-boot. When you get back on ebay will be there. In future when they email(always be sure it is ebay or log on separately) and confirm your account details. Been there done that.
A thought just occurred to me, is there a Mr Pussyfoot, a Young Pussyfoot and a Teen Pussyfoot?

This all has a familiar ring to it.

Family connection?
Well I'm glad you're getting there but, if you're using a Windows laptop, you've definitely got another browser (other than Chrome) already available to you. Assuming that you're using Windows 10, it's Microsoft Edge, which is available from the Start menu.
Question Author
Togo do you mean re start the laptop when you say switch it down? Sorry to be thick!
I don’t recall getting an email, but I do delete emails I’m not sure of so probably got rid of one without looking properly – I’ll take more care now.
Douglas no there are no other pussyfoots just me (a non technical me).

Buenchico – I’d clean forgot about that as I never use it – I really am a dope!
If I use that one should it work – I don’t want to make anything worse.

...sorry I accidently sent that twice!
Switching (even if only temporarily to Edge) can't possibly do any harm. If you can get in via Edge the problem clearly lies with Chrome, rather than being anything to do with your account.
It works on the ipad because you are using the app. Think of it like a house with a front and back door. Two different entrances but both lead to the same place.

As has been suggested try the other browser on your laptop. It may be a Chrome issue.

Also try restarting the laptop - not just closing the lid, but actually selecting Restart from the windows start menu.

You are not thick - you are just used to things happening one way with the computer and when something changes its unexpected.

Question Author
Ok I’ll do that Buenchico, it may take me a while, but I’ll definitely let you know.

Thank you Tuvok, you’re very kind, I panicked & had all sorts of horrid thoughts of what would happen.

Can a Mod delete PUSSYFOOT'S post as it contains personal information?
Cheers
Your real name was showing in the screenshot.
Question Author
Oh no, what did I do, I don't understand?
Your first screenshot (link now removed) looks like ebay and/or the browser is not loading the stylesheet (the bit that tells the page how to look) correctly.

The second screenshot led me to the ebay forums and I found mention of the same thing from 2017. Some of the suggested solutions (by ebay) was too many items in the watch list.

Another solution was a "worn" mouse! Seriously!!! - but weirder things have happened! Have you got a mouse connected to the computer? If so, assuming your computer has a trackpad (if its a laptop it will have) - unplug the mouse and try ebay again!
