Received an e-mail purporting to be from Microsoft telling me that they have taken $376 from my account for support services.If i wish to cancel there is a telephone number that I must ring and folow instructions.Needless to say I have deleted the e-mail.

You are correct to delete it. I make a note of such scams i get so i have a record of them.
