Well, I agree with excelsior BUT, the media, the fans have been telling us for the past 3 years that he is "world class"

I don't think so and have seen little evidence of it in major tournaments.

From what I've seen of him his main talent seems to be having a head that's big enough to hit with a football from a distance.
He certainly didn't show much athleticism last night.

Why does he get picked? We played better without him.

And I agree, he looked like he was ready for the knackers yard before he kicked off.

He did used to be able to run, right?

I thought the rest of the team played pretty good football.... except for the passing. England seem to have a "quick" team now - which makes it all the more obvious that Rooney is dead weight.

milner has been poor as well, but then again he has spent most of last season sitting on the bench. the media love roony, I have no doubt there would be some sort of outcry if roy had the kahuna's to drop him from the team
