I see Eamonn Holmes is absent from work again, coincidence?
Mick-Talbot, The answer is for anybody with those views.
Mick, I heard yesterday that Eamonn had taken a day off - I guess he expected to be celebrating last night.
Is that the same Nani that cheated against Spurs .The way those players circled around the ref was awful .Lets see what the EUFA will be doing about it .They should all be banned from playing in competitions .

The best team won and wodda won anyway .What did whats his name come out with that best team lost line for .I know if I played for RM id be asking for him or me to leave .Arrogant or what .Pity either team had to win .
"You are nobody to put a question like that. I am nobody. He did a great job."

Jose on Sir Alex
I see Eamonn Holmes is absent from work again, coincidence?

That'll be the same Eamonn Holmes who grew up a Leeds fan, and then jumped ship when they got relegated.

Jar Jar Binks Ferdinand should be retrospectively punished for his sarky clapping.

Duncer, as far as I was aware, Eamonn has been a lifelong Man U fan.
And here is Man United assistant manager Mike Phelan making apologies for Sir Alex' non-appearance before the press. Poor Fergie was distraught. Oh and by the way Mr Phelan - Ryan Giggs was not playing his 1000th game for the club!

Hopkirk, as far as I am aware, growing up in the same street as him for a good number of years, he was a Leeds fan, while his brothers all supported Man United.

Howevr, he may clam to be a lifelong Man United fan.
In fact he may "clam" many things, but I meant to say claim, however.
Ferguson and his players have a rite to express themselves (in the proper manner).
Clapping in the ref's face and refusing interviews is pathetic. These men are paid twice my annual salary, every week!!
It was a foul, perhaps a yellow card, but an un-safe challegne non the less.
Every team could provide eveidence of unfair judgement calls, but SIR ALEX should rise above that and be professional, or his team wont
Not being a Man U supported I just have a refereeing consistency question

Why wasn't the Real Madrid goalkeeper sent off when he went for the ball and punched Vidic in the face with both fists?
zeuhl - because it is the ref's interpretation of events. He will decide on just how reckless a challenge is.
1-2 Great result for me, as dortmund won 3-0, only six more correct scores to go, for a million pound, cant see it happening though.
Seems unsatisfactory

Why is Peter Crouch (or anyone else) performing an overhead kick in a crowded penalty box and smashing someone's nose, or indded last night Diego Lopez leaping fists first into an area where people are trying to head the ball any less 'reckless' than what Nani did?

Interpretation between Refs or even between games may be one thing, but we should at the very least expect consistency within the same game.

Personally I thought the referee had a poor game last night
Every week you football fans cry into your beer because of some referee decision .

Yet another case for FIFA to allow the refs access to instant replays in situations like these .

But no doubt you will all be telling me that it will ' spoil ' the flow of the game -
The Man U players actions will be in line with what Sir Alex instructs.

He could stop then badgering the referees easily, if he wanted to.
Well said Zeuhl, as an unbiased opinion I think you're spot on.

Hopkirk please explain... he's not told them to badger him. Even though I agree it was bang out of order and unprofessional of them.
