Yes an LNER B17.........can't remember the number.
No, that sounds like American football, or a Rugby league side.

Should the FA sanction the name change - and, let's face it, people, wouldn't be the strangest thing they've ever done - i would hope that the Hull City fans vote with their feet by pointing them in a direction totally opposite from the KC Stadium.
anyone know why the owner wants to change the name??
Apparently it's all to do with 'marketing', bernie. The man says that 'City' is common and there are far too many. Hull City Tigers, as he wants the team to be officially known, will, for marketing reasons, be known simply as 'Hull Tigers'. The shorter the better, he says!!!

Well, no reference to local heritage 'Drifters' or 'Whalers' might be more appropriate.
^^^^

If you type in Hull City FC and visit the Wiki page, section 2 deals with the name change in great detail.

He pays the bills - he can do what he likes.

Where would they be if he hadn't looked after them?

Hasn't Tigers been their nickname for years anyway?.
Tigers, yes.
Hull Tigers, NO.
OMG. I posted on a footie thread.
Hull Tigers?

Makes them sound like a gimmicky Cricket or Rugby team

He's not in the same 'Planet Zanussi' League as Vincent Tan, the Cardiff City owner though

Tan changed Cardiff's shirts from blue to red, changed their club crest from a bluebird to a red dragon, sacked the most successful manager in the clubs history, and before you know it will have re-named the club 'Cardiff Dragons'
