>>>What happens if the next manager doesn't get it right in his first 10 months?
There is not getting it right, then there is getting it terribly terribly wrong.
And Moyes got it terribly terribly wrong.
In fact I remember him pre-season saying that Man Utd had the toughest Premier League start for years.
But he was manager of a team who had won the league the season before, come second the season before that, and won the league the season before that.
If you are that good how can it be tough start.
With that statement he was giving the players an excuse to fail.
He was a dead man walking from that moment, even before the season started.
Also remember that other teams also had new managers at the beginning of the season - Man City , Chelsea, Everton, Spurs, and they will all finish above Man Utd this season.
Overall Moyes was a total failure.

I really did want him to do well, but his team selections have being poor changing them wholesale every game... which had no continuity to them at all... and the players themselves under performed so they have to take some blame for their failings this season. But Moyes has proved (IMO) that he is no tactition, looking at Martinez it shows what he could have done for the toffees.
I'm not a ManU fan but I think Moyes should have been given more time to make his mark. I think his card was marked before he even started, Ferguson was a hard act to follow. Just one man to carry the can for the rest of the team doesn't seem fair. But that's the game of football. I can remember Leeds Utd glory years, and they were good ones.

Players only under perform if they are ALLOWED to under perform.
Did you ever see a player under perform under Fergie, not very often, they were too scared to.
Players begin to under perform when they are not happy with the manager, or the tactics, or the training, or all three.
Fergie won the league with basically the same set of players last season so there is no excuse for such as poor season this year.
p.s. I am not a Man U fan.
