What is the origin of the Man Utd chant "Championes, Championes, Ole Ole Ole"? I have been singing it for many years but am unsure as to why we sing it, apart from being the Champions, that is!!

Not bitter at all, the best team won

Aberdeen fans started the chant in UK in 1983 season after winning the European Cup Winners' Cup, beating Real Madrid 2-1

Wise words from an over-rated, over-weighted, thankfully very dead hamburger and pill guzzling pub singer. People like you, obviously very wise and knowledgeable but failing to give me an answer to a fairly innocuous question, are the very reason why it is so sweet for Man Utd, the most famous football club in the world, to have won the Premiership, acknowledged to be the best football league in the world. Kindly replace your quiffed and empty head back up your a**e.
Did you sing it when you were a Chelsea fan too?
