...subject to legal matters being sorted.

Assuming it goes through, the new owners will probably be good for the club but they are American, which is a dirty word for the club.

Any thoughts?

lol here we go "MY TEAMS BETTER THAN YOUR TEAM" kids tch!!
bibble ... they are !

They are exactly what other top teams should aspire to !

All those people who say Arsene Wenger is not a good Manager must be nuts. Sure, they could buy loads of new player (or replace the entire team, like Chelsea), and win some silverware.

But then, they would end up like Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool ... existing on a financial knife edge.

And don't forget ... some of us down in the lower leagues do know how clubs should be run. Our new stadium should be ready next year!

(and before you say it ... I know that we have had spells in the financial poop)
Bernie ... my team IS better than your team !!

LOL

i was careful to specify top-level teams
We are top at the mo.
Will they be known as 'Liverpool Red Sox' after the takeover?

Such a shame to see a once great club in the relegation zone

I dont think it is a good idea for teams to be bankrolled by one person. What if Chelsea win the champions league and Abramovich decides thats enough for him. What happens then?

Listening to Radio 5 currently and, within the last hour, Hicks has been emailing that he's going to fight the sale all the way in the courts, so who knows when it will all end.
Can't see Abramovich walking away anytime soon as he apparently had ideas about passing the club onto one of his kids.. I suspect it is more likely if he wins the champions league he will go back to wanting the wins with prettier football...although some of the stuff I've seen this season has been quite pretty anyway......
I just hope that Liverpool can rescue their season and stay up...saying that you could get 40-1 on them being relegated at the start of the season its only 12-1 now....

The shenanigans in the boardroom are a distraction (admittedly a significant one) from whether Roy Hodgson is capable of getting the players to play half-decent football.
The two Morons Hicks and Gillette are now going to fight the takeover in the Courts so the Lawyers will now have a field day. The last thing we want is the Sale of the Club not to be completed before the Loan deadline by Royal Bank of Scotland.
The Club may briefly end up in Administration..........what a Pantomime these current Owners have created. They couldn't run a P*ss up in a Brewery !!
Administration....thats a ten point deduction isn't it? you might be playing Brighton next season after all...Jayne can you put us up for the night...we will let you know when when the 2011/20102 fixtures are released...sorry Darling..(Redman not Jayne)
At least they don't have to turn around an 86 year championship drought at Liverpool, so hopefully things will improve.
