...subject to legal matters being sorted.

Assuming it goes through, the new owners will probably be good for the club but they are American, which is a dirty word for the club.

Any thoughts?

Not quite....our illustrious owners are busying going through legal channels to make sure they get back some of the money they have "invested".

That's why i put "subject to legal matters being sorted". Just another week and a bit until things might come to the crunch, if not before
The fact they are American does leave a bad taste, but they do have a good history with sports teams and it seems the best option we have. The deadline is looming.
I think once the new owners outline their plans for the club, I think people (including the team) will begin to settle down
Morning Bibble and T&S,

They are just the pits at the moment.......if not careful there could be a major player going down this season and i dont blame Roy Hodgson at all, as he inherited the players mentality from the Benitez regime. They have to improve, but how and can you see it happening? Fernando Torres - yet another injury and when he plays looks highly unlikely to score.......not good

Time will tell.
There is still a huge chance of admininstration, Hicks and Gillette don't want to sell at the price. They own the club. Long long way to go.

What can one say about Torres? Maybe he's just struggling to keep himself from bursting into tears in public.

It's currently hell in a handcart time.
Hi yogi x
You're right, and Dave, long way to go yet.
It is looking hopeful at last but bear in mind that these two Morons (Hicks & Gillette ) are likely to mount a Legal challenge to the Sale. Late last night they tried to Sack two Board members for voting to agree to the Sale but Martin Broughton seems delighted with the outcome. Royal Bank of Scotland will be a major Player as they are owed the debt created by Hicks & Gillette through Kop Holdings. Liverpool FC are a profitable Club but the money generated has been going to service the existing Deby.
The Premier League have to approve it as well.
New England Sports Ventures, owners of the Boston Red Sox are Super Rich but not as wealthy as Abramovich or the Sheiks at Man City.
Long way to go yet but the Legal Teams will need to sort it all out.
Keeping my fingers crossed that Hicks and Gillette are on the way out !
Out of the frying pan into the fire?
Me too redman!
Hmmm.......Liverpool FC being sold by Americans with only their own interests at heart, being sold to Americans with.........lets wait and see.
For the good of the club, I hope it works out for them. Personally, I think its hilarious!!

It's still going to take some time to reverse the current lack of form on the field, the season might turn into a long struggle for mid-table security.
I heard this on Radio 4 today.

The guys who own the Boston Red Sox have pumped about $50m into that club.

Maybe they will do the same for Liverpool.

It will make a change from most of the thieves who take over English clubs.
are they related to the ones at old trafford they were very rich till they had to put their hands in their pockets
£50 million will go nowhere.....I hope they realise what they will need to invest to compete with the rich kids...
Question Author
The current financial state of the club means that they are not a target for someone who thinks they can just milk it for financial gain.

And in my last posting replace "might turn into a long struggle for mid-table security" with "will be one long struggle for mid-table security".
I wonder where they are quoted.

The Glazier's companies were quoted in some dodgy East coast exchange where they were not required to disclose full financial statements. When they claimed to be loaded, nobody could check up on them.
Martin Broughton would not have agreed to the Sale unless the New Owners met all the Criteria laid down by the Board of Directors, and that is.......Clearing of all Debt plus the Building of the New Stadium along with Team Investment ( no figure has been stated yet for obvious reasons as they are not legally the Owners yet )
Re-Generation of Anfield which is one of the poorest Areas in Europe is dependent on the building of the New Stadium. The residents living there have waited too long for this to happen.
