Early entry today as i'm off to the races shortly. Was going to see the Leger but the rest of the card isn't that attractive from a betting perspective so it's the Roodee, in the fair city of Chester. I've seen a half dozen St Legers and my son has the rest of his life to see his first, so he's none too bothered where he has to point his car :-) So far there are only 2 non-runners and they hardly affect the dynamic of the races. Of course there may be more to come but the rain forecast is for just 0.01 so i wouldn't expect too many n/rs.

1.50 Don; Dakota Gold @ 6/1 (enhanced place)
2.25 Don; Oh This Is Us @ 5/1
2.40 Che; Hochfield @ 5/1
5.05 Che; Carnageo @ 12/1

20p lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £50, 4 winners = £4,424.

As for the Leger, i am always intrigued when a horse is supplemented for a big race and if the owner's are willing to part with £50,000 to do so, then they must have some confidence behind the animal. So i've had £2.50 e.w. on Maid Up @ 25/1 - placed = £18, win = £83.

Best of luck to all.

Maid Up has to be my bet too Ken!

Have a great day at the races.
I can understand a pragmatic choice like yours Ken. The racing certainly looks better at Chester from an all round perspective, and the journey is not such a bind. My bet even reflects your view.

Always Resolute @13/2 2.05 Chester
Mustashry @10/3 2.25 Doncaster
Rene Mathis @11/1 3.55 Chester
Viscount Loftus @6/1 4.30 Chester

£1.00 E/W Acca. 4 X 30p Trebles. 6 X 30p Doubles. £5.00 Stake.
May do a bit of E/W on Old Persian in the Leger but Lah Ti Dah looks nailed on for me. Maybe a Rev/Fcast is the way to go. Will sort that later. Have a great day out Ken and I hope you get the winners at Chester. Your 2 choices are not clashing with any of my picks.

Maydup, what's it like having a racehorse named after you? :-)
Togo; just been whizzing through Chester's card and there's not that many who will relish the conditions today. It's a 'wet finger in the air and see which way the wind blows' type of thing. I know i'll have a great day out - win or lose. The winning just makes the day that much better :-)
Good luck both.
That is why I have done a couple with C&D form at Chester Ken, with jockeys and trainers who know how to win there. Just pondering a little double on Lloyd Webber's 2 runners, Too Darn Hot and La Ti Dah @ Doncaster.
How did you do Ken and Togo?

I see neither of the supplemented horses lived up to their owners expectations in The Ledger.
